Blended training
InformaAzione's blended training
What is InformaAzione blended training?
In an increasingly smart and connected world of work, hybrid training integrates digital training projects with the values of collaboration and cooperation, resulting in comprehensive, stimulating, customised and fulfilling pathways.
At InformaAzione, we have always believed in the importance of connecting with others in order to improve not only ourselves but also the groups we are part of and the working environment. Hybrid training allows the right mix of digital and human, innovation and tradition, hard skills and soft skills.
The challenges of e-learning
Here are some of the current problems that corporate e-Learning programs suffer from:
- Lack of collaboration – with employees being able to work at their own pace, corporate learning has become an isolated phenomenon: learners are distant from each other and do not have the opportunity to learn from each other.
- Relevance – e-Learning platforms may offer many different training courses, but this can overload and confuse employees navigating between different courses. In addition, the training courses offered may have little relevance to their daily lives and are often not prioritized.
- User retention – e-Learning courses make it difficult to sustain learning. Without an adequate connection to everyday life, courses are too often not given the necessary time to make an impact.
- Low involvement – as it is individualized learning, with a medium, video, which can, in the long run, be boring many employees are not involved in learning the content and its application.
A solution: blended learning
Blended learning or hybrid learning can solve most of these problems.
Let us understand what it is.
According to a classic definition: ‘Blended learning is a rich combination of learning interventions that take place online and/or offline.’
We might also add that blended learning also concerns the possibility of using synchronous (‘live’) or asynchronous modes.
The following table represents a simplified outline of the possibilities of combining the different elements
The possibility of combining different elements, especially the possibility of bringing people together, either in presence or at a distance, is a decisive advantage of hybrid learning over simple e-learning: as human beings, we have in fact developed brains that possess a particular sensitivity to relationship and communicative/emotional exchange with other people. Since we are profoundly social beings, the possibility of interacting with other people is incredibly richer and more meaningful than the mere solitary enjoyment of a video.
It is the value of a relationship, what we might call “human TOUCH”.
The scientific basis of blended learning
Maslow’s pyramid, for example, is a model of human development based on a hierarchy of needs:
at the base are the needs essential for survival, while going up one encounters the ‘higher’ needs, i.e. relational and then spiritual.
After the ‘physiological’ needs (physical wellbeing) and those of ‘security’ (effective, working and economic stability) we find the needs of ‘belonging’: each of us needs to be part of a group, to collaborate, to participate, to feel part of the community.
In other words, each of us needs human relationships.
